I have passionately supported people on their wellness journey for over two decades. My career began in the fitness industry after earning my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology (study of exercise science). I became a certified personal trainer with the Academy Center for Sports Medicine and an accredited fitness therapy specialist specializing in mindful movement and post-rehabilitation strength training programs for orthopedic injuries.
As a personal fitness trainer, I would often hear about people’s life challenges and concerns, which inspired me to enter the mental health field. In 2005, I earned my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and became a licensed professional counselor specializing in health and motivational psychology. This experience led me to leadership roles in the development of holistic wellness programs in the community, corporate, and private health retreat sectors spanning 13 years.
In 2017, I reached the coveted C-suite, but ironically, I had never felt so estranged from my own wellness. I lasted a year in that role and lost myself and my health in the process, but I feel fortunate one year didn’t turn into many. That experience - along with my other service and leadership roles over the past 25 years - informs my approach to supporting women who are carrying a lot of responsibility for others in their personal and/or professional lives. We need to give ourselves permission to prioritize our self-care and needs TOO so that we can honor ourselves and thrive - not just survive in roles that require significant time and energy.
My life’s work has centered on empowering women to do just that…
